The Score Review

I’ve been wanting to watch this film when it was released in the theatres, but it still managed to pass me by. Until I went to my video-rental-store J and it was right there.
The reason I wanted to see this flick was because of three things:

1) Robert DeNiro
2) Edward Norton
3) Marlon Brando

Three amazing actors in one small heist-flick, that had to be cool. I love heist-flicks, I love the whole preperation for a big robbery, I love the clever plans, I love the going down a rope, into a roomwith lasers while avoiding the guards......... I hate the predictable endings.......
But not this time, with three actors like these, and a director like Frank Oz, this was a new heist flick, with a good ending that would blow all other heist-films away.

Or so I thought.......

Because after 118 minutes, our beloved director gives us an ending that’s even more predictable than Entrapment’s.........
There went my dreams, my hopes, my future.........!!!!!! L
And that’s not the worst part, because when I came back to my senses i realized that I had just watched exactly the same film as every other film in this genre. Alright, so it was a bit more hi-tech and the acting was better. But that’s it!
This movies gives you exactly the same as every other heist-flick you’ve ever seen.
It just like Ocean’s Eleven (excpect that one had humor, and Brad Pitt), it tells you the same story as Entrapment, there’s totally nothing new or original in this film.

That said: It’s a nice film at times, eventhough it’s nothing new, the acting is top-notch, these guys feel eachother so well. Edward Norton plays a retard at times, which is always nice to see.
And they got cool gadgets!!

Finally there’s one more thing I’d like to say:
I rented the DVD, and between the deleted scene’s there’s a scene named: DeNiro & Brando improvisation. In this clip you see the same scene, shot 3 times and eacht time the 2 actors had to improvise. This is soooooooo cool, and it shos you how good these 2 can act.

So that’s it!, If you really like heist-flicks check it out. If you just saw Ocean’s Eleven, don’t waist your money.

“The Score” will receive 3/5 Supa P-Boy Stars!
