Chopper Review
If you thought that Chopper was
the new Vietnam based action flick starring Chuck Norris you're
wrong.
Chopper is the first full-length movie by Andrew Dominik's , Australia's
numer 1 music video director.
The movie tells the story of Mark "Chopper" Read, Australia's
most famous criminal. Mark Read commited 19 murders, but only got
convicted for 1, which of course makes a great base for a nice cult-film.
To play the sick,twisted,over-the-top and nasty murderer Dominik
has chosen Erik Bana, in Australia better known as a stand-up comedian(or
rather as THE stand-up comedian) and in the rest of the world known
as........well not actually. Bana plays the role perfectly an really
is the vicious murderer.
Which brings me to my only critcism for this film, if you have read
my entire review so far you will notice that I have used the word
Australia's 5 times, so as you might have guessed the actors talk
Australian. I'm not sure if you've ever heard an Australian person
talk, but most of them are damn hard to understand, and so is Bana
and the rest of the happy Australian cast. Otherwise this is a great
film, it has humor, action, great acting performances(Bana is really
good, unbelievable this guy isn't an actor) and the whole shebang.
So my advice is: If you're Australian, go see the movie(You probably
already saw it, it's the only movie ever released there) If your
not Australian, bring an Australian dictionary or something, but
go see the movie its great.
Chopper gets 4/5 Supa P-Boy stars.
